Is it okay for guys to have body hair?

Between you and me, I know that you would agree that a lot of guys have lots of questions about pubic hair. Is it okay not to shave or groom? What are the benefits and drawbacks? How often should I do my grooming routine? Let’s explore these questions in more detail.

It’s not a topic that is openly discussed, but pubic hair removal is something that many people do. However, it’s possible to leave your pubic hair intact and still be clean and fresh down there. That’s why in this post I thought I would talk about the pros and cons of both shaving and leaving your pubes alone.

Everybody has their own reasons and likings, there are some people who really love their private areas, all bushy and some like it really clean and smooth. As for me, I find bushy pubic hair not attractive and there is no way you can get ahead.

There are plenty of reasons why shaving pubic hair is a big deal.

  • Reduces chance of common infections.
  • Increases variety in sex life
  • Improves hygiene.
  • Reduce potential injuries.

There has to be a reason why you want to keep pubic hair and on the other hand, why should you trim it? I think your answer can really determine your liking and perhaps set you on the right path.

We will talk about both sides so that whatever choice you can make is something can live with and it suits your taste.

Not shaving pubic hair is a personal choice and the following are some of the reasons most people who do not shave their pubic hair have.

  1. Shaving Aftermath

It’s almost impossible to clean downstairs have a proper shave without having small cuts, for most people it’s irritating, and having to shave often it’s not that much of a pleasant experience. This comes with an itch that is not really that much fun, this leads to not shaving at all. Most people like their private areas really nice and quiet and they would go look for trouble by trimming it.

  1. Shelter

Well, pubic hair brings some comfort for your private parts for men it can be a place where your private parts can rest and it reduces friction. And on the other side, the warmth that comes with it can be appreciated by both males and females. Pubic hair absorbs sweat and moisture making the vagina have a consistent temperature. So instead of just being grateful, why get rid of something that brings that much comfort straight into your pants?

  1. Hygiene

I once met a person and for some reason, our conversation lost track and ended up talking about body parts and private areas. She backed up this point that pubic hair taming is very hygienic. Well, the debate took a long time she strongly believed pubic hair acts just the same way as eyelashes, nose hair, and ear wax, in as much as that may make some little sense. There is no scientific proof that pubic hair protects our private parts from dust, infections and prevents a vagina from unwanted debris.

  1. Prevents Sexually Transmitted Diseases

During sexual intercourse, there are a lot of things that can put you at risk of contracting diseases, and something as small as pubic hair can make a huge difference. In as much as this may not be a 100 percent prevention but still pubic hair avoids the skin from touching during intercourse. Which makes pubic hair worth keeping.

  1. Personal Choice

Pubic hair grows and starts appearing in our genital areas at the adolescent stage and adults have them too, every person who has reached and passed the adolescent stage has pubic hair. And it plays different roles depends on what a person believes. For some it symbolizes growth and to some, it’s just hair that grows around our private parts. Whether you want to keep it or not it’s up to you everyone has pubic hair at his or her disposal. Keeping or trimming should be more about your liking.

One of the things most people who are sexually active have in common is the need to shave often. The following are some of the reasons why you really need to work on how your genital area looks.

  1. Partner Expectation

One of the things you’re never to overlook is shaving your genital area, you can be really sweet, good looking and know all the right things to say but one simple mistake like not shaving your basement can ruin everything. Your partner will always picture your basement to have everything in order just like the way you look. There are some things you can’t explain just like not shaving, just the way you take some time to work on your hair or clothes, our pubic hair also needs that attention. so why not take some time to have a nice shave and not cost yourself a chance to get laid.

  1. Boosts Sexual Pleasure

It is so much easier to get freaky when you have a really clean basement, in as much as shaving may not guarantee orgasm but it plays a huge role during foreplay. Trust me, you wouldn’t like it if you go down on someone and come out with hair in your mouth. When your downstairs is clean and well shaved it’s even tempting on its own and it brings confidence to get naked. This is for those that enjoy oral sex a lot they may appreciate it when there is less hair down there.

  1. Cleanliness

Our genital area is usually covered with clothes and as we go about our day there are things like heat and sweat that form as we move about. Some bacteria also form around our private parts and may remain in the pubic hair for a while. With all of these, the heat and sweat may bring an unpleasant smell, hence, the need to trim pubic hair to also keep yourself safe from infections.

  1. Looks Pleasant

Our eyes play a role as well when it comes to getting turned on, unshaved pubic hair may hide your penis and with shaving, it may appear slightly bigger and healthier. And looking at a bushy vagina may not really be pleasant. The more you shave your genitals may flatter the eyes of your partner.

  1. Personal Preference

Removing hair should be more about personal preference to some it’s just removing hair while to others it brings comfort and confidence. Plus, having everything clean just ready for any action.

There are many ways of shaving just depends on which one doesn’t scare you, but shaving can be easy and fun. Let’s take a lot at some of the ways a person can shave and have.

  1. Clean Your Shaving Material

Whether you are using a scissors or razor blade it really needs to be clean to avoid infections.

  1. Organize Yourself

This can be taking a bath or just cleaning yourself, the goal is to have your skin really clean before the trim. Your skin may look really clean but there is usually some small dirt that is on your skin formed by sweat and dust. Bathing or washing up will prevent bacteria transition on your skin.

  1. Trim Your Pubic Hair

For this, you may need to use a mirror just to have a clear view, if you have really long hair try to start with scissors first to trim it a little to make it easier for the razor blades to cut. A handheld mirror is ideal when it comes to this.

  1. Take Your Time

It’s your body and your pubic hair you’re not competing with anyone and for you to decide to trim you must have spared some time to make your genital area look good. So it’s very important to take your time here. Be gentle, and keep on disinfecting your razor blade often. Lift your penis reach out to your balls and shave those balls, if you happen to know the direction your pubic hair grows it’s even a plus use that knowledge to your advantage.

  1. Moisturize

Now that you are rid of that pubic hair get your moisturizer you can use any of your likings, this is just there to help calm your private area from itching and other irritation that may come with it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I prevent razor burns and irritation on my groin area?

Razor burns and irritation are one of the most common side effects of shaving the groin area. This can be avoided by just following simple hygiene tips. The first and most important recommendation is to have a separate razor for your face and your groin. Using the same razor is extremely unhygienic and can cause razor burns and spots which can create more problems like STDs being transmitted to the partner. Also, a very under-rated procedure of shaving pubic hair is shaving in the direction of the hair. This delivers a closer shave and minimizes razor burns and irritation.

Some of the razors that I personally use can be found on Amazon:

Like the hair on the scalp, does pubic hair go white?

Pubic hair goes white mostly when the person is in their 30s to 40s. The cause of white hair is that when a person is in their 30s or 40s, their hair follicles start to produce less melanin that causes the hair to turn white. Pubic hair can also go white due to these reasons

  • Vitamin B-12 deficiency
  • White Piedra
  • Vitiligo
  • Pubic Lice

If you are experiencing premature white pubic hair which is that you are not aged 30 or over, a doctor would be able to pinpoint the exact reason for this and prescribe medication to eliminate this issue. More information can be found here.

What is a Pubic Lift?

Pubic Lift is a procedure that raises and tightens the excess tissue that is covering the pubic area. It is not to be confused with a tummy tuck as this procedure addresses the stomach region and not the pubic area. However, you can get both procedures done, Pubic Lift and Tummy Tuck, together to get the best possible results. More information can be found here.
